The Redhawks soccer teams are taking it inside Friday night as the teams take on Frisco High School at the Ford Center.

Kicking off first, the girls’ team (2-3) who will take the field at 5:30 p.m.

“Playing at The Star as a freshman is a bit nerve racking,” forward Brooklyn Miller said. “It’s a bigger field than we are used to, however it’s inside so we don’t have to worry about the weather.”

To help prepare for that extra space the soccer team changed up some of their drills.

“We worked on defending in a lot of space and playing the game and a lot of space,” head coach Kyle Beggs said. “Usually, whenever you practice you want about a five by five yard grid per player that’s playing. Yesterday we did about 10 by 10, so that we can simulate the added space.”

Shortly following the end of the girls game, the boys (2-1-2) are tentatively scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.

With a major club soccer tournament in Orlando, the boys’ team is short of a few players.

“For Friday we’re just preparing to keep our intensity up and also add more people to the game plan,’ junior Jack Abare said.  “We’re missing 5 people so we’re trying to find ways around that.”
