Soccer looks to keep the ball rolling following three losses and a single win. With playoffs out of the picture for the boys, the girls push on.

The boys’ and girls’ soccer teams headed to The Ford Center Friday night to take on the Frisco Racoons.

The girls’ team kicked off first and a back and forth contest saw six goals scored with the Redhawks and Raccoons finishing in a 3-3 draw.

“We did a really good job of battling back in the game,” senior Kallin Brown said. “Everytime we went down a point we fought back, we even continued fighting when one of our players got hurt.”

Shortly following the girls’ game, the boys took on the Raccoons with part of their team gone at club tournaments.

Falling behind 1-0 in the opening minutes, the team trailed for the vast majority of the game. However late in the second half, the Redhawks began putting pressure on the Raccoons, notching two late goals to walk away with a 2-1 win.

“We played without three of our starters against a better team in the district,” junior Chris Marroquin said. “Throughout the entire game we did a great job working together to make plays and trusting each other, scoring two goals in the last five minutes to win the game.”
