As the forecast calls for snow and ice, Frisco cancels school for Thursday and Friday. This has given the opportunity to students and teachers to have a short break.

Every year, Frisco ISD builds in two bad weather make-up days, that are usually placed on the calendar in April.

However, with the winter storm that cancelled school Feb. 16 through 19, there was a chance Frisco ISD would have had to attend school on those days.

But the Texas Education Agency has approved a waiver request from the district, which means students and staff will not have to make up any of the missed days from Feb. 16 through 19.

That means April 5 and April 23 are still bad weather make-up days, and there will be no school for students and staff unless further bad weather comes our way.

With April 2 a holiday, that means the first weekend in April is a four day weekend, and the last full weekend in April will be a three day weekend.

The last day of school remains May 21.
