Wingspan: Who encouraged you to start track?

Ashmore: “My middle school coaches told me to do it so I did.”

Wingspan: What is the hardest part about track?

Ashmore: “Probably the pre-season workouts when we are trying to get into race-shape, those are pretty difficult.”

Wingspan: What’s your favorite part about track?

Ashmore: “I love competing and getting to hangout with teammates at meets and at practice.”

Wingspan: Who is your biggest role model?

Ashmore: “My older brother is my biggest role model, he also ran at Liberty and now runs at college.”

Wingspan: What is one thing people think about track that isn’t actually true?

Ashmore: “People kind of just think track practices consist of a bunch of hard running, but there’s more to it like handoffs and block starts and we get a good amount of rest.”

Wingspan: Do you have any superstitions?

Ashmore: “I run at meets without socks.”

Wingspan: Do you have a pre-game routine?

Ashmore: “I like to listen to music while I warm up because it helps me zone out, because the less I think the better I perform.”
