In a year with dozens upon dozens of events disrupted in one way or another, the show goes on for Red Rhythm as they are set to perform this year’s spring showcase, Ultimate Adventure: Elements of Earth Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

“The show is about all of Earth’s elements such as light, darkness, metal, wood, water, fire, ice, and wind,” Red Rhythm director Nicole Nothe said. “All genres of dance will be showcased such as hip hop, jazz, lyrical, kick, and contemporary. There are various groups such as solos, duets, small ensembles, and whole team routines. There are also theater students and musicians playing music and singing at the spring show.”

Red Rhythm members have been rehearsing close to 30 routines for the showcase, with many members dancing in a variety of styles, such as sophomore Kanen Braden.

“I am in team military, team pom, team novelty, the fireball section dance, rhythm of the week dance (ROW), and the finale,” she said. “We’ve been working on these dances since contest season in December, so we have practiced for about 4-5 months.”

Anyone interested in watching the showcase can visit Red Rhythm’s instagram bio, @redrhythm_, for ticket and livestream info.

“Time management is very difficult because we have a lot of deadlines to meet,” senior officer Amy Kim said. “As an officer there are many things to prepare and many Red Rhythm traditions to prepare for. We have a practice almost every day before or after school, and this week we’ve been preparing by attending lighting rehearsals and dress rehearsal. However, despite the difficulty, everyone is just looking forward to show day because it is such a meaningful time. For most of our team it’s our first one because of Covid last year, so we’re extra excited to perform on a stage that is just meant for us.”
