Wingspan: When did you start track?

Williams: “I started track in 7th grade.”

Wingspan: Who encouraged you to start track?

Williams: “We have always had track runners in my family so I have always just been in that environment.”

Wingspan: What is the hardest part about track?

Williams: “I think the hardest part about track is the mental part, you do hard workouts and sometimes the meets are hard so just keeping yourself motivated is hard.”

Wingspan: What’s your favorite part about track?

Williams: “My favorite part about track is the relay events. They are very fun to run and watch. Also, having fun with my teammates.”

Wingspan: Who is your biggest role model?

Williams: “I think my biggest role model is my grandpa because he went to the Olympic trials for track and he is always giving me tips and encouragement.”

Wingspan: What is one thing people think about track that isn’t actually true?

Williams: “I think a lot of people think track is just going out and running but you have to train and really get in shape for it.”

Wingspan: Do you have a pre-game routine?

Williams: “My ‘pregame’ routine consists of focusing on what I need to do like my warm up and focusing on what I am about to run.”
