Continuing on their 30 plus year partnership, the Texas state fair and North Texas Food Bank work together to provide meals to people in need through food donations in exchange of cheaper tickets.

The state fair of Texas and North Texas Food Bank are fighting hunger at this year’s state fair. The annual state fair opened Friday and run until October 17 at Fair Park in Dallas.

The North Texas Food Bank and the state fair of Texas have been partnering up to host a canned food drive for more than 30 years.

Last year, they did a drive-thru for food donations and the state fair raised $25,000  in donations for the North Texas Food Bank. These funds will help provide about 75,000 meals to help feed those in need.

They will continue the fight against hunger every Wednesday. If you bring 5 canned food items on Wednesdays, your admission will be $5 at the gate.
