Every Monday at 7:37 p.m., Frisco Young Life meets at Brookhaven church to grow together in their faith. “I love having fun on Monday nights with my friends. It’s a great time to talk to each other and learn more about God,” sophomore Lily Leyden said. “I’m looking forward to camp and creating many more memories with my friends this year during Young Life.”

Frisco Young Life, a Christian ministry for youth, is back for the 2021-2022 school year, with meetings at Brookhaven Church every Monday at 7:37 p.m.

“I love having fun on Monday nights with my friends. It’s a great time to talk to each other and learn more about God,” sophomore Lily Leyden said. “I’m looking forward to camp and creating many more memories with my friends this year during Young Life.”

Sophomore Mary Jane Mccurdy enjoys being involved with Young Life and spending time with people she knows.

“The best part about Young Life is when we get to sing and dance, and at the end when the leaders give us a talk about the Bible,” McCurdy said. “I am most looking forward to getting to know our leader more, and hanging out every Monday night with my best friends.”

For senior Katie Stone, being a senior means her last year as a student in Young Life, and she is ready to get involved again this year with the club.

“As a senior I am definitely looking forward to campaigners, which is basically like a Bible study I have with the Young Life girls in my grade. At Bible study we can just have really good and deep conversations that help grow our faith,” Stone said. “The best part about Young Life in my opinion is being able to have a community where people from all over Frisco can go and hang out together, and play spike ball, listen to Taylor Swift, and just have lots of fun and learn about Christianity and about God’s love.”

Young Life also holds multiple camps throughout the year for students to connect with their faith on a deeper level, and to have the ability to travel to different areas of the country with other students on campus.

“I went to Frontier Ranch this summer which is a part of Young Life and it was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had,” Stone said. “Camp was so much fun and I just made a lot of new friends that I can lean on to grow my faith.”

Developing lasting relationships is part of Young Life’s goal where everyone is welcome, according to leader Sarah Weinmann.

“I get to witness and partake in building friendships that last a lifetime. It’s my favorite part of my job, hands down,” Weinmann said. “Everyone is invited to Young Life. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you wear, what you like, what you believe, who your friends are, we want you there. There is a place for everyone in Young Life”
