The Frisco Community Parade, honoring veterans, Frisco ISD schools, and community spirit, is Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in downtown Frisco.

“The Frisco Community Parade is a celebration for our community of Frisco,” assistant director of bands Cecily Yoakam said. “All 11 high schools will have student organization representation with their homecoming courts, marching bands, cheer, and drill teams participating. The Liberty Band will be performing a patriotic medley as we march.”

Organizations from the school such as the band, football team, and cheerleaders will be participating in the parade on floats.

“That is our way of showing respect and honoring those who have served in our country,” associate band director Tyler Elvidge said in a previous interview with Wingspan. “This is the only parade that the students get to experience, so it’s really important for them to get that opportunity to play in a parade setting for all the people in Frisco, and play for a different audience than they are used to.”

Main Street in downtown Frisco will be closed at Toyota stadium east to North County Rd. beginning at 8 a.m. More details on the parade can be found here.
