The Redhawks (10-2) saw their 2021 football season draw to a close with their 57-14 loss to the three-time defending state champion, Aledo High School on Nov. 19 at UNT’s Apogee Stadium  in the Area round of Division 7-5A II playoffs.

“We can only do better from here,” junior Preston Mealy said. “We made it this far, we’re just hoping we can do better things in the future.”

While the team’s regular season ends here, their work and dedication to the sport they love continues on.

“We are going to continue to work hard,” Mealy said. “It’s just mental toughness at this point. We are going to work hard and have a great off season.”

Quarterback, junior Keldric Luster, accounted for both of the Redhawks touchdowns.

“Going into the season, we felt like we were going to go to playoffs this year,” Luster said. “We just had to get the job done. This was definitely a big year for us. We predicted to go farther than we have before and we got it done.”
