The Redhawks soared over the Lebanon Trail Blazers Tuesday night 62-34 in the opening game of District 9-5A play for the boys’ basketball team.

“Our strengths were that we composed our will and did what we were supposed to do when it came to executing the game plan,” head coach Stephen Friar said. “We got guys that understood the assignment.”

Scoring a 3-point shot minutes into the first quarter, freshman Jacobe Coleman helped the team widen their lead.

“We played really good defense,” Coleman said. “We had a plan going into the game and for the most we executed, but there is always room to get better.”

Junior Budda Daniels is pleased with how they ended the game in the second half, which gave them their first district win.

“Really in the first half we didn’t play good,” Daniels said. “But in the second half there was more ball movement which contributed to our win.”
