The Evil Eye

You have probably seen this symbol before, as a necklace pendant, or maybe even someone’s profile picture on Instagram. But what does it mean? The Evil Eye is an ancient symbol of protection. Wearing it, or carrying it with you guards against misfortune and protects against evil spirits.

Receiving the Evil Eye is believed to be a curse cast by a malevolent glare. There are three main types of evil eyes. The unconscious evil eyes, which harm without intending to, the ones that intend to harm, and the final one, is the hidden evil, the most frightening one.

The black bead in the center of the evil eye reflects the evil intent back to the onlooker. The typical blue color is an element in protecting the user. The color of the evil eye is generally blue, sometimes green. The traditional blue color of the evil eye is the color for good karma and positive energies. Sometimes the evil eye is light blue, which symbolizes truth.

To recap, wearing or having the evil eye around you protects against misfortune and overall improves your life. It will also keep your life balanced and protect against ill-will that someone may have wished upon you. I totally recommend wearing one!
