Following a tough win against McKinney North, the Redhawks are bouncing into their next round of playoffs. Staying so close throughout the first half gave the team the drive they need heading into Friday.

The girls’ basketball team kicked off the second semester on Tuesday with a game against the Lone Star Rangers at the Nest with the Redhawks wrangling the Rangers 41-34.

“We don’t go into a game with the mindset of wanting to win,” head coach Ross Reedy said. “We go in looking to improve and find the small wins every time we play.”

Improving to 8-0 in District 9-5A, the Redhawks ended the first half leading 21-9. However, the Rangers were able to outscore them 25-20 in the second half.

“Playing teams that will make us find different ways to problem solve or expose areas of perceived weaknesses or highlight an area of strength that we didn’t know we had, that is what’s important,” Reedy said.
