The Redhawks boys’ basketball team suffered their second district loss on Friday when they fell 69-56 to the Reedy Lions in a District 9-5A matchup.

“I think we got a little bit away from what we do well, which is play good solid defense,” assistant coach Bruce Wright said. “We had too many mental mistakes on the defensive end, which kind of led to us giving up things that we normally don’t.”

The loss on Friday to the Lions brings the team’s record to 5-2 in District 9-5A.

“Friday was a little different than what we had seen all season. We’ve never had a team play as good as that,” junior Kaden Groom said. “So going into that game on two day prep, we’re trying to look for ways to score points and set the zone and we did a decent job of it, but in the end we just couldn’t pull out and they went on a run in mid fourth quarter and it kind of just sealed the deal.”
