Since the start of the school year, students in the BPA (Business Professionals of America) club on campus have been waiting for their chance to compete and make it to the state conference.

Although business attire is not necessary this year, many BPA students will be competing after school today, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.

For junior Vinay Pattanashettar, that hour and a half competition has had many months of anticipation.

“I feel pretty confident,” Pattanashettar said. “I’ve been studying for the past two weeks: all of the practice exams. And it really took me a while to get a grasp on the vast majority of knowledge. I’m competing in the banking and finance event and this is a brand new topic for me. And, yeah, I feel confident through all the practice I’ve done so far.”

The regional leadership conference finalists will move on to the state competition in Fort Worth from March 2nd-5th.
