Sometimes a place lives up to the hype, and sometimes it doesn’t. What’s Cluckin’, in Plano, claims to be “the best Cluckin’ chicken in town” and the hype is worth a visit.

The relatively small restaurant was amazing. The decor is very simple including seats on the inside and the outside of the restaurant, TV’s on the wall, and paintings which embrace the true culture of the restaurant and it’s owners.

Although seafood, sides, drinks, and dessert can also be ordered, this place is all about the chicken.

The 3-piece tenders with a side of fries and honey mustard ($8.29) were cooked perfectly and went well with the honey mustard. The fries were golden, and they weren’t too hot but you could tell that they were freshly made.

The 5-piece chicken wings with a side of fries ($10.69) is the most popular item on the menu and it’s easy to see why. Pairing well with the sauce they were served with, and the fries once again were cooked to perfection as well.

Topping the meal off, a slice of red velvet cake ($3.99) which reminded me of a certain cake my grandmother used to make for me when I was younger was very pleasing.

The most popular item on the menu at the restaurant, the chicken wings, lived up to the hype. Although it wasn’t my first choice on the menu this time, it will be the next time. If you are ever looking for a great fried chicken restaurant, What’s Cluckin’ is the place to go.
