After months of preparation and practice, AcDec competed in their last competition of the season with the school placing tenth in the state and several Redhawks bringing home individual medals.

“The AcDec competition went great,” AcDec advisor Holley Mosley said. “We finish top ten in the state and several of our students brought home medals in individual events.”

On the individual side, Shrenick Gannamani placed first in interview and bronze in social science, Jaden Jovan placed 3rd in speech, Logan Schaefer placed 1st in speech, and 3rd in science, finally Kyathi Uyyala placed 1st in interview.

For AcDec member Shrenick Gannamani, the competition exceeded expectations.

“I would say we achieved better than we expected we had are really massive point improvement compared to our prior competitions,” junior Gannamani said. “Also, we passed a team that had been ahead of us and ranked higher than us so we were able to finish ranked as a top 10 team at state which is a pretty impressive feat.”

Now, the team is already looking ahead to next year with prepping and recruitment.

“So for the next couple months, we are planning for next year,” Mosley said. “We have a few seniors graduating, so we’re looking for some younger students to fill in some of those gaps and recruit students that are interested to try and make the team start preparing for next year.”
