As someone who is a big fan of Riela, it felt fitting to review her new EP llorar y perrear. It dropped March 11, and it has been very fun to listen to since then. The whole thing sends the clear message that if you are feeling down or in your feelings, you must pick your head up and realize how great you are.

My favorites from this EP are “sola,” “indirecta,” and “try again!” I really love “indirecta” because it really shows off that ‘I don’t care’ attitude that is sometimes necessary in life. The word “Indirecta” translates to “indirect.” It is used as a way to say that someone is throwing you an insult or dissing you subliminally, not directly to your face. In this song, Riela goes on to say that if anyone has something to say about her then they should say it to her face. A sentiment that I couldn’t agree more with.

“Sola” is geared more towards that self love aspect of life. This song was the single from this EP that dropped on Valentines day. It’s about being the one who loves you and not needing someone else to do it. It really highlights the passion of loving yourself and knowing your worth. “Try again!” is another self love song that emphasizes creating boundaries for yourself when it comes to letting others into your life.

The ultimate theme of this EP is self love, and it’s beautiful. There is nothing more important than loving yourself and Riela really showed that in this EP. She used her beautiful voice to create something that can heal your heart whenever you feel down or like you aren’t good enough.
