There’s just seven weeks left in the 2021-2022 school year and for some students this may be the opportunity to bring their final grades up and solidify their rank, and for others this is the time to prepare for the next step in their academic careers.

Freshman Sheen Saxena has made it a goal to improve her statistics from the previous quarters.

“Since the beginning of the school year my grades have had an upward trend so I hope to keep thet going and keep improving,” Saxena said. “The only thing you can do to keep up with good grades is to keep up with good habits, so I guess I’ll just make sure I’m getting my school work done and making good choices.”

One sophomore has a plan to make the last quarter count.

“I have a pretty good plan to achieve the goals I’ve set for myself,” Issac Mo said. “I really want to do well because I see how hard other peers work and I want to feel proud when I see my grades in HAC, and see if I rank.”

Stepping up a grade, junior Riley Williams is keeping up the hard work for senior year.

“It’s the last nine weeks so we’re in the home stretch,” junior Riley Williams said. “As much as I would like to relax and just do whatever, I’m gonna be a senior next year so I have to make sure I’m keeping up with work.”

Unlike their underclassmen, seniors will be leaving after this final quarter, so their plans are varying.

“I didn’t do that great during the first semester and I don’t really have plans to improve this last quarter,” senior Hunter Rithcie said. “Because I’m a senior, there’s pretty much no use in doing that well with the exception of AP’s, and since transcripts with grades and rank have already been sent to colleges this is a pretty laid back time.”
