Boys’ soccer saw an end to their run in playoffs Friday. Ending their season, the team is proud of their accomplishments and ability to go as far as qualifying for round one of UIL playoffs.

The boys’ soccer season came to an end on Friday, when they fell to the McKinney North Bulldogs 5-4 in the first round of playoffs.

“The team played very well Friday night,” assistant coach Kyle Parks said. “We outplayed McKinney in every aspect except the score unfortunately.”

Despite the loss against the Bulldogs, the boys finished with a better record (12-4-5) than last year.

“I hope the players learned that we can compete with any team in the state when we believe we can,” Parks said. “At the same time, the results don’t always reflect the work and time put in. So not to dwell too much on results and consider the process and journey.”

For senior Tanner Lindley, this season meant more than just playing to win.

“I think we didn’t play to our fullest potential,” Lindley said. “I think there were definitely things we could’ve improved on. I would say they were playing for the tie at the beginning of the game though. I think the season taught us all the importance of family outside of family. Forming bonds with your teammates is something you can’t give up.”
