Volleyball heads into their first District 10-5A game of the season, when they host the Emerson Mavericks at The Nest at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

“We’re working on offensive plays that will help us score against their defense,” senior Emma Cacurak said. “We are watching film on their strengths offensively and defensively so that we can know their weak spots and execute our game plan.”

The team hopes to bounce back from their loss on Tuesday to the Argyle Eagles, and Cacurack feels confident in the team to secure a win on Friday.

“We are expecting some competition,” Cacurack said. “But we have practiced strategies to win and have a game plan in set to win.”

According to head coach Eighmy Dobbins, the team is motivated heading into district play.

“We are working on our communication defensively,” Dobbins said. “I am expecting the girls to be excited and motivated because it’s our first district game of the year.”
