Taking inspiration from other schools, Red Rhythm decided to fundraise through a silent auction via a Google Form. Parents of children who participated in the Sept. 2 mini clinic, can bid for a chance to have their child sit with a Red Rhythm officer during the Homecoming game.

Deviating from their usual fundraiser ideas such as selling items like poinsettias, Red Rhythm has decided to try a new approach by fundraising through a silent auction.

This is just something new we are trying that we’ve seen another team do in another school district,” Red Rhythm director Nicole Nothe said. “So we’re just trying it out to see how it goes.”

Parents can bid for a chance to have their child sit with a Red Rhythm officer in the stands during the first and half of the second quarter for the Homecoming game.

“This new way of fundraising is pretty interesting and different, but I’m excited to see how it will play out,” Junior Lieutenant Reva Kabnurkar said. “I also think it would be fun to sit with a little dancer during the 1st quarter.”

However, this opportunity is only open to dancers from Pre-K to 5th grade who participated in the Sept. 2 mini clinic.

“With the success of the Red Rhythm mini clinic this year, we realized how much the kiddos in the community want me to be part of school organizations,” Vice President of the Red Rhythm booster club, Daisy Sinclair said. “This opportunity will make them feel like they are part of the dance team and will learn discipline and hard work, while having fun and cheering on the football team from the stands.

The simplicity of running an online silent auction has also caused the Red Rhythm booster club to change their fundraising methods.

“The bidding process is convenient, easy to do, as the bidding takes place from their mobile device through Google Forms and there is no need to attend an auction in person,” Sinclair said.

Sinclair is hopeful that this new method of fundraising will be successful in raising enough funds for the team.

“The money raised has to go to several areas in the team,” Sinclair said.  “Red Rhythm senior scholarships, team gifts throughout the year, Homecoming, family events, locker room decor, senior sunset dinner, team pictures, competition choreography, costumes, accessories are just a few of the things we have to raise money for.”
