As the school year progresses, juniors and seniors are beginning to look at colleges. One avenue to learn more about different schools in surrounding states is Find Your Future Night happening Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lone Star High School.

“I’m going to find the future night just to look at my options for colleges and to see if there’s any good fits for me,” junior Allie Schmidt said. “Kind of just like, look around and see if I’m interested in anything there.”

This week’s Find Your Future Night is focused on schools in states near Texas.

“I am looking at going to school close to Texas because I kind of just want to be close to home and be able to come home easily for the holidays and stuff,” Schmidt said.

For other students, such as junior Mary Jane McCurdy, the event provides the opportunity to look at options away from home.

“I want to go to find your future night so that I can see what other colleges are outside of Texas and to keep my options open and see where I want to apply,” McCurdy said. “I just want to see what other schools have to offer and see if they have programs I’d be interested in.”
