This week’s recipe is my nutritious take on the classic ice cream flavor cookies and cream.
This smoothie combines the sweetness of tropical fruits with the rich taste of hazelnut butter. The hazelnut butter’s flavor and slightly coarse texture resembles that of crushed cookies, reminiscent of cookies and cream ice cream.
Ingredients:
Smoothie Base:
2 bananas
2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
Coconut water to blend
Hazelnut butter:
1 cup roasted and blanched hazelnuts
¼ cup coconut sugar
3 tbsp cacao powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
Blend the hazelnuts, coconut sugar, cacao powder, and vanilla extract in a small blender till a slightly coarse butter is formed
Blend the bananas, and pineapple chunks with coconut water till it reaches a smooth consistency
Pour the smoothie into a jar and stir 3 tbsp of the hazelnut butter into the smoothie with a straw
