Acceleration opportunities available through summer school

As the school year comes to an end, students are being given the opportunity to earn credits during the summer. The acceleration summer school program allows students throughout the district to get ahead.

“I’m doing the summer school program because I would like to do my program over three weeks instead of the whole school year,” freshman Stephanie Okorie said. “The class I’m taking will help me start the med track, and so I can finish it by junior year.”

Students can earn one credit during the summer, either through two half-credit courses or 1 full-credit course.

“I’m taking the speech course, and the reason why i’m taking it during the summer is because I don’t have room in the electives to be able to take it throughout the school year,” freshman Catalina Landauro said.

Students can sign up through Friscoisd.org with registration closing May 30.
