Getting a head start on their fall season, the volleyball has been on the court practicing since June. With various camps and skills sessions, the players are doing all they can to prepare for a successful season.
The 2023-24 school year started Wednesday, but the volleyball team has been on the court since June to gear up for their district season.
“The team is feeling really prepared for the season,” senior Mary Jane McCurdy said. “We have gotten a lot of good practice and scrimmages, we have tournaments in the upcoming two weekends, which will be helpful for when district comes.”
With various camps and practices over the summer, McCurdy feels prepared for the upcoming fall season.
“The team has been preparing a lot this summer by going to skills every morning and just working on the small things,” McCurdy said. “We had a TCU camp a week before tryouts which was really helpful for us.”
For senior Kate Ashmore, starting out her final year brings mixed emotions.
“I am feeling really sad that this is my last year, but I’m really excited because it’s gonna be really fun,” Ashmore said. “And I’m really excited to do it with such a fun group.”
