Those looking for the perfect place to have a sushi date night in the Plano/Frisco area need look no further than RA sushi. Located at the Shops of Legacy, RA sushi is an upscale, modern sushi restaurant with a warming atmosphere.

From the outside, RA sushi doesn’t stick out much. Diners probably wouldn’t choose to go there willingly, unless it was specifically sushi they were looking for as it’s tucked in on the quieter side of the shops, close to Mexican Sugar.

Upon entering, the layout of the restaurant is what catches diners attention first. There is a small sushi bar at the very front, where my date and I chose to sit. We went on a Friday night, and the restaurant being at the Shops of Legacy, it was fairly packed. But when we chose to sit at the sushi bar, we were seated immediately.

The rest of the place features a variety of tables and booths, and even a bar parallel to the sushi bar, where large TV’s are displayed. As soon as diners are seated, the first thing you’re sure to notice is the music which can be quite loud. But that’s about the only negative.

The ambiance is inviting with the lights dimming as the night goes on, leaving the lanterns that decorate glowing a bright orange color. It gave a very cozy effect, and the atmosphere was so inviting.

Sushi fans will love RA sushi. It’s especially cool to sit at the sushi bar and see the sushi prepared, which was surprisingly entertaining to watch.

Perhaps the best surprise about RA, the prices. I thought the bill was going to be over-the-top expensive, and I even slyly tried to order one of the cheapest rolls on the menu out of consideration for my date. But it wasn’t that bad. For an upscale sushi place with a fun, inviting atmosphere and overall good sushi, it’s well worth it.
