Saturday marks the district meet for Model UN at Grand Prairie High School. “The basis of MUN is that you’re preparing something about your country’s stance on a certain topic - it’s a mock United Nations,” undersecretary of conference and delegate trainer sophomore Jiya Sharma said.

Hoping to keep their title as leaders of District 10-5A, volleyball will take on Independence Friday. “They have a couple of really strong hitters that we will definitely have to prepare for,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said.

Hoping to keep their four-game district winning streak alive, the Redhawk volleyball team takes on Independence Friday at The Nest at 5:30 p.m.

“They have a couple of really strong hitters that we will definitely have to prepare for,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “We hope to come out with a really solid win and just build on what we did last night.”

Independence is currently sitting in third place in District 10-5A, but sophomore Maddie Lagrone hopes for the team to make quick work of the Knights.

“I hope that we beat Independence quickly in three,” she said. “I think it would give us lots of confidence going into the rest of the season.”
