Saturday marks the district meet for Model UN at Grand Prairie High School. “The basis of MUN is that you’re preparing something about your country’s stance on a certain topic - it’s a mock United Nations,” undersecretary of conference and delegate trainer sophomore Jiya Sharma said.

In their first tri-meet of the season Redhawks wrestling were pinned. Slim numbers were believed to have limited the teams success.

In their first tri-meet of the season, Redhawks wrestling fell just short to Northwest and Princeton Wednesday at The Nest.

While neither of her teams came away with a win, for assistant coach Viviana Espinoza, these meets are about exposing the sport to a wider audience.

“If people could just go out and see the craziness that is wrestling, that would be awesome”, Espinoza said.

Sophomore Dani Banks believes that what cost the Redhawks the meet was their relatively slim numbers.

“Our wrestlers fought as hard as they could and more but we did lose to both Princeton and Northwest [because we were not] able to fill all the weight classes and thus we gave up forfeit points,” Banks said. “We still have things to work on but overall I’m very proud of my team.”
