Girl’s basketball aren’t the only winners being recognized on campus as the Red Rhythm dance team had their annual contests on the past two weekends and won Grand Champion both weekends in a row.
Fresh off a Grand Champion performance Saturday at Independence High School, the Red Rhythm dance team is debuting their contest routines for the school and community Tuesday in the Lone Star High School main gym starting at 6:30 p.m.
The show displays choreography created by dance officers, team members, and directors, who have been working together to create contest worthy routines
“I think what motivates the team is their passion for dance and their passion for one another,” assistant drill team director Sydney Mooty said. “They are very hardworking, they work together as a team, and getting to show off their dances and hard work, you can get to see their passion as well.”
The event is free of charge and will feature routines from all 12 FISD high schools.
“I just think it’s really fun to watch, obviously like if you have friends in drill as well,” junior Sydnee Smith said. “If you have friends, or your family can attend, and it’s a free event you can come and watch. Also we’ve been working very hard. and so it’s been very exciting to see all the dances come together, and we just love people coming to watch.”
