Students throughout Frisco ISD have the opportunity to learn more about the financial aid system to help them through the college process at Wednesday’s Financial Aid 101 presentation at UNT at Frisco from 6-8 p.m..
“If you want to know more about the options that are out there, the finances that the federal government has for you as a student, I would advise you to go,” College and Career counselor Cher’ron Jones said in a previous interview.
At Wednesday’s meeting, students can hear from financial aid experts who present and inform about FAFSA, TASFA, and other scholarship opportunities with FAFSA completion leading to higher rates of post-secondary success.
“Getting a four year degree or more is very expensive and not understanding the financial part of the education, I think students really need to take advantage of any information out there,” Jones said.
For former Redhawk and UNT graduate Isabella Santiago, the financial aid process is well worth it.
“FAFSA can definitely help make college and paying for college more accessible to a lot of students,” Santiago said. “Of course there are finances that everyone thinks of, such as tuition, but there is also lot cost outside of that if your going to college. A big part of college is paying for student activities and that can really change someone’s experience in college.”
Students interested in attending Wednesday’s Financial Aid 101 presentation must register.
