Blinding Emerson (1-6) with pink to raise awareness for breast cancer, the volleyball team (6-1) swept the Mavericks at home 3-0 Friday, extending their winning streak to six games and maintaining their tie with Centennial (6-1) for first in the District 11-5A standings.
“It was a solid win for us, glad we got it done in three,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “We were consistent offensively all night and had several girls with high hitting percentages. I’m glad we didn’t underestimate them and we played well all night.”
Even though the Redhawks have been consistently winning matches (15-5) this season, senior Brianna Walsh says that every match, win or loss, gives the team some indication of what to work on.
“We need to keep finding ways to score in all of our matches,” Walsh said. “With the competition we have been and will be playing this season, the most important thing for us is just to keep our focus.”
