Students enrolled in AP classes must pay a $99 exam fee by Thursday, with exceptions for spring classes and AP Seminar/AP Research, as taking AP Exams can help earn college credit and enhance college applications.
Though students are months away from the group study sessions and strategic preparation that comes with AP Exams, the payment for year-long AP classes is due Thursday. The fee is $99 and can be paid on Online School Fees.
There are two exceptions to this: for spring semester classes, students will pay starting January 2025. Also, students enrolled in AP Seminar or AP Research will have a different exam fee of $145.
Taking AP Exams can be important as they give students the chance to earn college credit and can bring more ease to the college experience.
¨Students that sign up for an AP class I think should take the test,” AP Psychology teacher Tim Johannes said. “Obviously, lots of kids will get college credit for it. A lot of kids will graduate high school with, you know, 20 or 30 credits from the AP tests they took. Colleges love to see the kids taking that, I would think. It’s a good way to compare them to other kids that also take the same class. Much better than like a grade in the class because you can compare them like ‘Oh, this kid got a 3 or a 2 or a 1 and this kid got a 5,’ and their grade in the class might not be as reflective of that.”
