Lyn Lapid blends soft vocals with chill pop beats to bring a fresh, nostalgic sound to the modern music scene.None of the images used in this graphic belong to Liberty Wingspan. All rights remain with Lyn Lapid and her team.
Upbeat tempos, loud vocals, and fast beats continue to dominate the charts, but rising through the rankings is a blast from the past. Mimicking the gentle music from decades past, Lyn Lapid is reintroducing chill pop onto the music scene.
Lyn Lapid, also known as Katleyn Lapid, began her music journey with more classical instruments – violin and piano. In 2018, she got her start in the music industry by releasing covers on social media. Two years later, Lapid debuted her original songs and her song “Producer Man” gained a lot of online buzz through TikTok. Soon after, she signed with Republic Records and began officially releasing her music as a legitimate artist.
Her first full album, BUZZKILL, is set to be released this year. So far Lapid has also released a couple EPs, which allowed her to further showcase her distinctive style. Her voice is soft and blends well with the chill op backtracks. Although her music is often more toned down than traditional pop, it is still catchy and Lapid’s lovely voice is still on center stage.
From the few singles she has released as a precursor to BUZZKILL, the music is more influenced by alternative pop and a little less soft than her prior pieces, as reflected by the edgier black-and-red color scheme of her album cover. However, the subtle switch in musical structure doesn’t take away the romantic charm Lapid’s songs are known for and simply showcases them in a different light.
