Baseball secured a 13-5 win against Memorial on Tuesday, keeping their District 11-5A playoff hopes alive. The Redhawks hope to continue their winning streak and face Memorial again on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at The Nest.
Tuesday’s win could be traced to the little things according to sophomore Carson Higgs
“The skills I think helped us beat Memorial was being able to play small ball, bunt the ball and work as a team,” Higgs said. “Our work as a team and base running was also really good.”
According to head coach Scott McGarrh, sticking to the game plan worked for this game, and they’re planning to use the same tactic for the next.
“[What helped us win was] absolutely sticking to the game plan,” McGarrh said. “Down three to one, we missed opportunities early on but we did not change our game plan, we just continued to do what we needed to do, which in this case was small ball. And overall we’re planning to carry that into the next game as well.”
