Unable to turn things around, baseball (6-7) lost to Emerson (9-4) 7-1 at home Tuesday, keeping the team in a tie with Independence for the fourth playoff spot from District 11-5A.
“[What they did well was] they competed and played hard,” head coach Scott McGarrh said. “What did we have trouble with? Their pitcher, they were pretty good.”
With one game left in district play, the Redhawks can still advance to the postseason, but at least on Tuesday, staying positive throughout the game was difficult for sophomore Carson Higgs.
“One challenge that I had was to stay positive throughout the whole game, even when we were down by a lot,” Higgs said.
