The swim and dive team raced to first place in a meet against Centennial, Panther Creek, and Independence on Tuesday.
“Preparations and expectations were exceeded,” head coach Zachariah Gnoza said. “We had a lot of great close races and quite a few personal best times. As far as challenges I will always remind them to stay humble when we are ahead and stay positive when we are behind”
Freshman Avantika Raja focused on beating herself this meet, instead of focusing on beating her competitors.
“Some goals I set for myself yesterday was to beat myself and to beat the clock, not just to beat my opponents and get some personal records for my 200 and 500 free,” Raja said. “I beat my record for the 200 free, but I didn’t for my 500 free.”
