The swim team competes with Heritage and Mesquite on Thursday, hoping to improve on what they missed out on last meet.
“As far as challenges I will always remind them to stay humble when we are ahead and stay positive when we are behind,” head coach Zachariah Gnoza said. “Another area needing improvement is to have the kids race hard no matter the circumstances. You never know until you try and give it your all.“
For junior Samantha Njau, encouraging teammates is key to having a successful meet.
“My goal is to show the Redhawk spirit, whether in cheering for my teammates and being a good sportsman,” Njau said. “We’re swimming at a new pool so I’m curious on what we can accomplish in a new environment. I’m in some new events so I’m going to give it my all and come in with a winning mindset.”
