Hosting the state’s 7th ranked team in 5A Division II, the football team (1-6, 1-4) took a 70-14 hit to the loss column against the Prosper Walnut Grove Wildcats (6-0, 4-0) at Kuykendall Stadium Thursday.
Despite the loss, senior offensive lineman Ryan Miller said it taught him an important lesson.
“You should never give up,” Miller said. “There will always be some sort of reward if you don’t stop.”
The reward for the Redhawks in this case? At least now, they can call themselves the team that scored the second-most points on the Wildcats defense this season, behind only Little Elm’s 24.
Redhawks football coaches did not immediately respond to Liberty Wingspan’s request for comment.
