Yearbook pictures will be taken on Wednesday and Thursday in the library during social studies classes with staff members able to get their pictures taken at any time during the school day or before school.

While pictures are available for parents to purchase, student pictures are vital for the yearbook. Yearbook adviser Carole Babineaux said that having current pictures of students is an essential part of the yearbook.

“We want to have good current photos of all the students and staff because we’re capturing memories of this year,” Babineaux said. “It’s also important that [students] dress appropriately so that they’re happy with their pictures that go in the yearbook.”

Yearbooks are currently being sold for $60 as part of the Early Bird Special. The special will last until Sept. 30. From there, the price of a yearbook will continue to increase throughout the year and will cost $80 dollars when released in the spring.

“It is the lowest price the books will have all year long,” Babineaux said. “You can save 20 bucks and it’s helpful for [yearbook staff] to gauge our sales.”
