GT Humanities students will see words come to life Wednesday in the auditorium as part of a special workshop arranged by teachers Sarah Wiseman and Sarah Baker.

Shakespeare Dallas is coming and we are about to start studying Shakespeare in class,” Wiseman said. “Shakespeare Dallas will perform three excerpts, Romeo and Juliet; Hamlet; and Taming of the Shrew, and students will learn from first hand experience about the topic.”

Reading Shakespeare is a part of a high school curriculum across the country, but Wednesday’s visit by Shakespeare Dallas is designed to elevate the material for students.

“The sophomores will be experiencing this for the third time and the freshman will be experiencing this for the first time,” Wiseman said. “ I feel that seeing professionals will teach the students more about the way words are said better which will help elevate their language.”
