The start of October brought the first of three competitions for the school’s marching band. Taking part in the Golden Triangle Marching Classic Saturday night in Denton, the band came home with a third place finish.

“It feels really good because we’ve been working at this for months,” junior Arihant Bohara said. “We’ve been working at this for months and it feels good to have some sort of recognition for our hard work.”

It will be a busy month for the band. On top of football games, the band will take part in the Frisco ISD Marching Band Showcase Tuesday, followed by a contest Saturday in Plano and the UIL Regional Marching Contest on Oct. 22.

“As an ensemble, it’s good to see these guys get to perform at a higher setting under the bright lights at night,” senior drum major Pierce Roberts said. “It’s really good for them to get the experience, and it’s always nice to get the chance to be at the top.”
