Inspiration: My mom
Wingspan: What made you choose art?
Gong: “I was always influenced by art when I was younger because my mom studied art in China and always inspired me to draw and paint when I was a child. As I grew older, I continued to pursue art as a passion and hobby in high school.”
Wingspan: How does art affect your everyday life?
Gong: “I think art is universal. It inspires everyone and is timeless. In our everyday lives, we are constantly changed and affected by the art around us, whether that’s in the form of music, books, or artwork.”
Wingspan: What is an artistic outlook on life?
Gong: “I think an artistic outlook on life is when you express yourself through your own representation and put whatever work you choose to put out.”
Wingspan: Do you view art as a form of expressing yourself?
Gong: “I think art is a way of expressing yourself because whatever you chose to draw or put out, is usually cultivated by your own ideas. It’s a unique representation of yourself.”
Wingspan: Are you considering this as a career? How do you plan on pursuing this?
Gong: “Yes. In the future i want to do something that will incorporate my elements of art. I might not directly pursue something that’s art design or become an artist. However, I definitely see myself using elements of art in whatever occupation I pursue.”
Wingspan: Is this a stress reliever?
Gong: “Yes because it allows me to use the creative side of my brain everyday. Everything is typically every technical and logical but with art it’s more free form.”
Wingspan: When you are not painting or drawing what are you doing?
Gong: “When I’m not painting or drawing I’m partaking in academic activities such as school. I also like to play guitar and work on my company Dynasty.”
