Wingspan: What made you choose the violin?

Rath: “I wanted to play and music and my mom didn’t want me to play a brass instrument because they are too loud.”

Wingspan: When did you learn of your interest in music?

Rath: “I was interested probably from 1st grade. “

Wingspan: When did you discover your talent? How has that changed you?

Rath: “I discovered it around 8th grade. It made me a lot more attentive to my extra curricular.”

Wingspan: How do you prepare for a concert?

Rath: “I attend rehearsals and practice at home.”

Wingspan: How do you handle mistakes during a performance?

Rath: “I just keep playing because there’s no point in starting over.”

Wingspan: Are you considering this as a career?

Rath: “I don’t think so because it’s really hard to make it big in the music industry and I’m also very passionate about industry. However I do see lifelong hobby.”

Wingspan: What’s been your favorite memory in orchestra?

Rath: “My favorite memory is going to Orlando.”

Wingspan: How do you balance orchestra and your extracurriculars?

Rath: “I practice violin right when I get home because I know I can stay up doing homework but not stay up playing violin.”
