Wingspan: How has it affected your life?
Bullitt: “It’s helped me out a lot because I had a lot of things to say didn’t have a way to say it. It’s just a way of expression.”
Wingspan: What’s been your favorite memory?
Bullitt: “I performed at Frisco Rail Yard, it was the first time I performed a song that I wrote so it was super memorable for me.”
Wingspan: What is it like to balance school, yearbook, and the new gigs you have been trying out? Bullitt: “It’s definitely a lot harder, but I think music makes it a lot easier to balance everything just because I can express what I have to say through singing.”
Wingspan: How do you prepare for a show?
Bullitt: “I usually pick a song a couple of weeks before the show and then I like to perform the songs I’ve written, so I practice that a couple hours every week before the show.”Wingspan: What have you learned about yourself through the arts?
Bullitt: “It’s helped me get a sense of what works for me and what impacts me the most in the world.”
Wingspan: Are you considering to be in the music industry after high school?
Bullitt: “It’s a goal of mine, I know it’s a hard thing to achieve, but it would be something I would like to do in the future.”
Wingspan: How do you handle your mistakes during a performance?
Bullitt: “A lot of the songs that I perform are songs that I write so if I mess up most people don’t know. I usually make up something on the spot if I mess up during the performance.”
Wingspan: How did you start doing these gigs?
Bullitt: “I started a couple years ago, I just wanted to learn guitar, and I started learning a couple of other instruments as well. Once I started performing I liked it more and more so I just kept growing with instruments and singing..
Wingspan: What is your advice to anyone interested in singing for the public?
Bullitt: “I would say go for it. It’s a chance to show what you can do and you shouldn’t have to hide what you’re talented at.”
