Boiling soup at Sharbro Hotspot
For the longest time, I’ve wanted to eat shabu shabu. It’s a Japanese nabemono hotspot dish of thinly sliced meat and vegetables boiled in your choice of soup. And so for this culinary crusade, I went to Shabro Hot Spot shabu shabu in Frisco.
I went into the restaurant and overwhelming shock came over me, there was so much happening.
First I stood in the buffet line and put vegetables such as cabbage and bean sprouts on my plate. The next stop in the line, surprisingly enough was raw fish, so I picked crab, shrimp and a couple small octopuses. For the noodles I chose rice noodles, glass noodles, and the one I was excited for the most, tteok-bokki. Another thing I was excited to eat was fish cake, I honestly recommend everyone should try them.
After picking all that, I went back to my table and poured all of my toppings into the boiling soup. And after a couple of minutes of it boiling, I was able to start eating.
It was all very tasty, I truly enjoyed eating all of it. It was flavorful and warm, and a fun dining experience. Besides the fact that I thought it was weird to literally have your meat boiled right in front of you for a few seconds and then ready to be eaten, everything else was great.
I definitely enjoyed this crusade, and am 100 percent sure I’m going to go back.
