Wingspan: What made you choose to join choir? 

Pasam: “I joined choir because I’ve always enjoyed singing. I wanted to see what choir was like and I ended up staying.”

Wingspan: When was your first experience with singing? 

Pasam: “My first experience with singing was probably just singing along with songs in the car and really falling in love with it.” 

Wingspan: How do you think singing has impacted your life?

Pasam: “It’s really opened me up to lots of opportunities outside of school. I can use my singing for auditions and for various programs.”

Wingspan: What are some challenges you’ve had to overcome? 

Pasam: “Overall I’ve struggled with finding time to dedicate to singing in school and to find time to practice.”

Wingspan: What is your best memory of this class?

 Pasam: “I’ve had a lot of good memories and made good friendships in this class but I’d say my favorite memories are those on concert days where we are all getting ready and really pumped up and excited to sing.” 

Wingspan: How do you plan on using singing later in life?

Pasam: “I plan to join choirs in college and overall continue singing for my own pleasure.” 

Wingspan: Who would you say is your mentor/hero/inspiration? 

Pasam: “I look up to a lot of singers. A lot of pop singers such as Bruno Mars or Shawn Mendez inspire me to continue singing.” 

Wingspan: What are your personal music goals for the rest of this year? 

Pasam: “I have auditions for Pre Area today so I aim to make All-State and just experience being in All State for at least one year.” 

Wingspan: What future opportunities do you think Pre Area will provide?  

Pasam: “Pre Area is a really prestigious choir program and making All-State will provide opportunities for a lot of scholarships and many colleges will reach out.” 

Wingspan: How do you balance choir, school, and other extracurriculars?

Pasam: “I manage my time accordingly and I try to wake up early, get enough sleep, finish all my work faster so that I have time for choir practice.”

Wingspan: What motivates you to work harder on choir? 

Pasam: “Really just having goals such as All-State and just the desire to do well in my class and in concerts are all things that motivate me.”

Wingspan: How has choir helped you expand your musical abilities? 

Pasam: “This class has taught me how to not only sing by myself but also with others and also has helped expand my knowledge of music theory and applying it in the real world.”
