Wingspan: What made you chose theater?
Koch: “A chance to share what to you do. A chance to show other people my passion.”
Wingspan: Why did you chose to do dance?
Koch: “I do dance because it helps relieve my stress and gives me a chance to get away from school.”
Wingspan: How does theater affect your everyday life?
Koch: “I have class everyday in school. After school, I almost have rehearsal everyday.”
Wingspan: What’s been your favorite memory in theater?
Koch: “Everyone going to IHop after our closing night in Guys and Dolls. It was a lot of fun and we all really bonded.”
Wingspan: How do you prepare for a show?
Koch: “I focus and get in the zone. I do vocal warm ups and make sure I’m ready to go out there.”
Wingspan: How do you balance your theater and dance rehearsals?
Koch: “I don’t.”
Wingspan: Do you see dance/ theater a way to express yourself?
Koch “ Yes of course. I don’t know who I’d be if I didn’t have what I love.”
Wingspan: Are you considering theater as a career? Why or why not?
Koch: “ Yes I am. I would love to be in Broadway one day.”
Wingspan: How do you handle your mistakes during a performance?
Koch: “I just pretend like it didn’t happen. The audience doesn’t know the show so chances are they don’t know you messed up.”
Wingspan: How do you balance theater and your other extracurriculars?
Koch: “It’s really difficult cause they are both really demanding. I don’t get to see my friends a lot but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make to have the future I want.”
