Wingspan: How long have you been doing summer track?
Masucci: “This is my first year.”
Wingspan: What club are you a part of?
Masucci: “Texas Express. We practice at Lovejoy high school.”
Wingspan: How do you think it will prepare you for the upcoming year?
Masucci: “I think since I’m new to the sport it’ll give me all the experience especially with top level pole vault turns. I think that’ll help me throughout the school year too.”
Wingspan: How often do you practice?
Masucci: “Usually 3 times a week.”
Wingspan: What made you want to join summer track?
Masucci: “Well I was a gymnast and then I quit. I thought pole vault team was really cool. I really want to continue it throughout the summer.”
Wingspan: When did you start pole vaulting?
Masucci: “September.”
Wingspan: Are you excited for the meets?
Masucci: “Yeah, i’m a little nervous though since it’s my first summer season so I don’t really know what to expect.”
Wingspan: How do you want to improve for next season?
Masucci: “I’m definitely going to go to all the practices and I want to just improve on my technique because I kind of learned everything so fast.”
Wingspan: How is summer track different from school?
Masucci: “It’s a lot more individual based because we aren’t doing it as a team.”
