Blogging has become trendy recently among many girls on campus as they hope to spread more positivity within the community.

“I think that blogging empowers us girls in the community,” sophomore Katie Gray said. “It helps us gain better perspective of each other and helps us to understand everyone in their own unique way.”

Although blogging can be quite empowering for the writers, sometimes it can be hard knowing what other people will have to say.

“I think the hardest part is worrying about what people think,” sophomore Meghan Champagne said. “It can be really nerve racking imagining what people are saying about what you posted.”

On top of stress from peers, it can be hard for bloggers to balance school, extracurriculars, and remembering to post.

“I always like to plan ahead,” Champagne said. “To do lists are a must for me; they help me see what I have to get done on my blog or in school.”

With the push of a couple of her friends, sophomore Katie Stoker began blogging earlier this year.

“I started blogging because I’ve always had a passion for writing,” Stoker said. “Even as a little kid I’d write stories for fun.”

For other students such as junior Madeline Kennedy, starting a blog was born out of her passion and has grown to be therapeutic.

“I started blogging freshman year honestly because I was in love with fashion and health blogs,” Kennedy said. “I wanted to share my love for health and fashion with everyone. When I’m stressed or tired, I write. Even when I’m excited I write.”
